The Myth of the Slow Month

With No-Nut November in full swing and thanksgiving upon us, its easy to fall into the trap of "its going to be a bad month" The myth in the industry that our numbers are going to go down because the holidays are here. Today's blog is going to address this myth and ways you can continue earning the big numbers.

I've been a content creator for going on 6 years now and I have learned that the "slow months" are different for everyone. Thats not to say that the industry itself doesnt experience its own ups and downs but there's never consistently a "slow month" for everyone all at once. For some creators they make the most money all year during November and December. For others, midsummer is their best. It all depends on you.

What we can do when its slow
  1. Stay updated on socials and how they are changing. . As we've learned, social media platforms are changing all the time . Instagram changes the way it pushes content on an almost monthly basis, tiktok recently changed the way it pushes content too . You have to adapt to the new algorithms or you wont survive. You'll also have to change your promotion strategy in order to make it worth the effort you put in. Short form videos with long captions are more popular on instagram, whereas tiktok just updated the algorithm to push videos over a minute. Our fun little dance routines wont cut it any more there.

  2. Stay up to date on trends in adult content. In order to continue making sales, you have to be creating content that people want to buy. It is becoming a little more difficult across the board to just sell the same content we were 6 months ago. Poll your fans; Post a picture to catch their attention and then ask them to drop a comment or dm you what they want to see more of from you. I did a photo with my top pulled down and my coffee cup and posted it with this caption "Happy Monday my loves. I'm just here with my coffee and my tits out for your pleasure. But I wanted to ask you something: What kind of content do you want to see more of, keeping in mind I ONLY do solo content. Drop your suggestions in the comments or DM me. I am here to please YOU." Now, if you do a poll like this and your customers actually request specific content from you, you should be sure to start making that kind of content. This makes your fans feel seen and heard and they're more likely to keep their rebill on and keep purchasing your content. We've talked about the importance of building relationships with your fanbase to keep them coming (and cumming). Don't destroy all the work you've done by not listening when they tell you what they want. With 50k+ new accounts going up on OnlyFans a day now, and new creators flooding into Unfiltrd all the time, you need to make sure you're standing out for your fans. If they can get exactly what they want from someone else, they will. So use those polls and follow them.

  3. Most importantly, and we harp on this constantly, you need to stay CONSISTENT. If you post every Monday Wednesday and Friday, you need to maintain that consistency. You've made yourself and your content part of your fans routine. If you stop posting on Wendenday out of the blue your fans are going to become disenchanted and leave. If you need time off use a scheduling tool so that you can maintain that consistency for your fans while also taking a much needed break. Metricool is a great tool for scheduling out your social media and most if not all fan subscription platforms have their own built in scheduling tools. Use these to your advantage. Even if you're not taking time off, you can use this to lighten your work load by scheduling your whole week in one day, opening up your schedule to respond to DMs, create new content and in general, have a life.

  4. Try. Fail. Try again. As we mentioned above, not every strategy you try is going to be successful. Personally I'm about to give up on tiktok because it's Max Effort/Minimum Reward where they have my account under a shadowban. No matter what I do I cant break 1000 views on my best videos, and thats with adjusting to the algorithm. However take that same video over to instagram and I'm viral. If it's not working for you, change. There's no point in doing the same thing over and over again and hoping for different results. What works for Steph isn't always going to work for you. And what works for you isn't necessarily going to work for me. The nature of this industry is to adapt to the ever changing trends.

So these are our tips for navigating that "slow month". Remember that just because it's slow for you doesnt mean it is for everyone else, and if it's slow, you need to take a look at what you're doing and change what isn't working. Poll your fans, create the engaging content they want and stay consistent.

That's all I have for you today. Have a Prosperous week and a very Happy Thanksgiving. K Love You, BYEEEE
